Djordje Djordjevic Sweeps Men’s Awards

Memphis, Tennessee ( June 10th, 2022) - Djordje Djordjevic named National Indoor Soccer League’s Most Valuable Player, Golden Boot, and Top Point Scorer.  Djorde took the NISL by storm this past season, tallying 26 goals (1st in NISL), 15 assists (2nd in NISL), and averaging 2.3 Points Per Game.

Djordjevic made his presence felt early in the season, scoring at least one goal in his first 5 games.  Djordje set a league record for goals in a single game (4) on January 7th against the Columbus Rapids on the team’s first road trip of the year.  He followed that performance up with a hat-trick the next night, scoring his third goal in overtime to win the game for the Americans.  Djorde’s best performance again came against the Rapids where he tied the league record for most points in a single game (6) with 4 goals and 2 assists in the Americans 13-5 route of Columbus.

The Basin, Serbia born forward played 4 years with Christian brothers University before joining the Americans via open tryouts last Summer.  “Since day one he’s been a truly special player.  For a rookie to come in and have not only that kind of impact statistically, but also play with such a high understanding of the game is astounding,” Head Coach Corey Adamson says of Djorde.  “To be that strong, that fast, that technical, is unique in itself, but being able to smash the ball with both feet makes him nearly impossible to handle one vs one.  On top of it all, he’s an incredible person and locker room presence.”

“Winning all 3 awards is a testament to all the work I put in throughout the years,” says Djordjevic.  “Thank you to everyone who supported us, coach Corey and all my brothers on the team for an incredible season. I love this game!”
