Memphis Americans to face Columbus Rapids on the road
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – The Memphis Americans men’s and women’s teams face the Columbus Rapids for the fourth time this year on Friday, Feb. 18. Kickoff for the first match is at 4:30 p.m. CST at the Columbus Civic Center in Columbus, Georgia.
Both Memphis Americans teams are coming off wins over the Fayetteville Fury. On Feb. 12, the men’s team won 5-4 and the women’s team won 3-0. The Memphis Americans and Columbus Rapids most recently faced each other Jan. 22 at Landers Center, where both Memphis Americans teams secured a win. The men’s team won with a score of 6-3, with goals secured by Djordje Djordjevic and Samuel Castro. The women’s team saw a winning score of 7-3, where Jennifer Osmond made her presence known by making two of the team’s goals while Stacy Murray-Owens scored the other one.
The Columbus Rapids men’s team is led by coach Eddie Miranda, while the women’s team has coach Miguel Galindo at the helm. The men, who are looking to break their two-game losing streak, have a record of 1-6, while the women are 2-5 on the season.
Individual match tickets for the Memphis Americans inaugural season are available for purchase at www.memphisamericans.com. Each ticket grants entry to both the men’s and women’s matches. Season tickets start at $180 and are currently available on the team’s website, as well. Season ticket holders have access to all men’s and women’s matches, enjoy postseason and off-season priority access, can attend a meet and greet with the team, and receive a special inaugural season scarf.
